StreetWalking DC with RobertMiller

An unexpected and impromptu opportunity to do some Street Photography with Robert Miller [@rmillerphotoeditor].

I met Mr. Miller coming out of the parking garage one day with his Fujis ready to capture the light and shadow of DC. We exchanged pleasantries and info and went our different directions. Fast-forward about a week and I’m passing Mr. Miller on my way to the garage after work. A quick chat and I’m tagging along talking and feeling the inspiration to capture some amazing memories.

He leads me to Palmer Alley in NW, DC. Incredible lights and opportunities to challenge my skills and knowledge of using existing light. After some test shots and remembering the nuances of natural lighting (especially in this type of environment), I was ready to take the challenge of capturing a memory or two (not sure if Robert expected me to engage strangers).

The first was a gentleman and his friends sitting at a table finishing of what looked like a great meal and dessert at Piccolina da Centrolina. I couldn’t resist his charismatic smile and of course the ambience of the alley made for a great image.

The second opportunity was just a few steps down where I met Morgan and her “hopefully one day soon” fiancée. These two had just come from nearby and were full of laughter and just enormous smiles. I inquired if I could take their pictures and  they graciously agreed. They’re laughter and silliness was of course  contagious and it made for a wonderful memorable ride home to Lusby as I thought about the chance meeting with Robert and then such amazing people.
